Remote teams face unique challenges

I’ve not worked with remote teams but I’m open to it.

I have not had much experience with working across timezone, though I am open to it!

Here’s what worked for me

Working across different time zones can introduce delays, so we address communication gaps by being intentional about how and when we communicate. We rely heavily on asynchronous communication, including clear documentation, well-written tickets, and detailed updates, so work can continue without waiting for real-time responses. For topics that require discussion, we establish overlapping hours and use them for high-impact conversations.

We also set clear expectations around response times, ownership, and handoffs to avoid blockers. Regular check-ins, shared tools, and documented decisions help ensure alignment, reduce misunderstandings, and keep progress steady despite time zone differences.
