Yes, it can be possible for a Nurse Midwife degree holder to work in Australia, but usually you cannot work as a nurse or midwife there based on the degree alone. You normally need to be registered through Ahpra/NMBA first. If you trained outside Australia, the current process starts with the Ahpra self-check for internationally qualified nurses and midwives, and then your qualifications and background are assessed to determine the pathway. Depending on your situation, you may also need a separate ANMAC skills assessment for migration purposes.

Helpful places to start:
Ahpra international practitioners: https://www.ahpra.gov.au/Registration/International-practitioners.aspx
Ahpra self-check: https://portal.ahpra.gov.au/s/self-check
ANMAC skilled migrants: https://anmac.org.au/skilled-migrants/about

So the short answer is yes, potentially, but only after the proper registration process. Were you trained and licensed outside Australia already, or are you still deciding whether to pursue registration and migration there?”
