Feedback from multiple stakeholders

Receiving feedback from various sources can be overwhelming. How do others prioritize and implement diverse feedback?

In my 40-plus years of experience, feedback “by committee” can be a nightmare and usually indicates the document was not ready for editing. Request that all issues be resolved before editing and that the editor work on the final draft. Then designate one person to review the editing and answer the editor’s questions (the lead person in the group or department who will have the final say). Allowing multiple people to review the editing can lead to uninformed responses that question the editor’s expertise (“My mother was an English teacher and she says…”), which wastes time as the editor explains modern grammar and usage.
