Streamlining administrative processes

Bureaucratic processes can slow down efficiency. What solutions have been successful in streamlining administration?

Here’s what worked for me. No redundancy. My last company repeatedly hired administrative staff that overlapped job functions. So people were answering to more than one person, the administration staff was spending time on projects that another staff member was already working on. Also, don’t ck. the checker. Too many checks and balances readily slow down the workflow, and create staff spending more time ‘covering their bases’ than completing work in real time. Also, Slack channels are very handy, however they can interrupt workflow very badly when overused. Set tasks in concrete, on your software systems, and document progress, up to completion. Then move on. Also don’t send staff to seminars and meetings just to send them. Make sure they’re valid. Also, side note. Vendor shopping. VERY important. I would surmise 75% of managers would find they could purchase products 5-10% less expensive elsewhere. Group purchasing groups help as well.
