First thing I’d figure out is who you’re teaching and what they actually want out of it. “Learn English” can mean a lot of different things.

Are you trying to help people with conversational English, passing an exam (IELTS/TOEFL), business English for work, or something else?

Once you pick that, the course basically builds itself. You can map out a simple path (beginner → intermediate → advanced) and design each lesson around real situations they’ll run into.

Who’s your target student, and what level are they starting at?

I am a little confused by your post. Do you want to start a course yourself to get certified in ESL or are you wanting to start a course to help other people get certified in ESL?
